Merge PDFs into one organized file
Combine invoices, reports, forms or scanned pages in one pass. Files are merged in the order shown, giving you a single document that is easier to send, archive or print.
Split and organize selected pages
Enter a page range such as 1-3, 6, 9-11 to extract only the pages you need. You can also remove unwanted pages while preserving the rest of the document.
Convert between images and PDF
Create a PDF from multiple JPG or PNG images, or export each page of a PDF as a JPG. Image exports are bundled into one ZIP download for convenience.
Finish documents with useful details
Rotate pages, add page numbers or apply a text watermark. These small finishing tools help prepare documents for sharing, review and filing.
How to compress a PDF in your browser
Large PDFs are a daily frustration: an email provider refuses the attachment, a government or job portal caps uploads at 200 KB, or a WhatsApp share stalls on a slow connection. This tool shrinks the file on your own device — nothing is uploaded — by recompressing the photos and scans inside the PDF. Text, page order and layout stay exactly the same.
- Add your PDF. Choose a PDF file, or drag and drop it into the workspace.
- Choose quality or a target size. Pick a quality preset, or set a target file size such as 200 KB for portal forms.
- Compress and download. Press the compress button, compare the original and new size, and save the smaller file. The original file on your device is left untouched.
Tip: if a target size cannot be reached, the tool tells you the smallest size it could produce. For a very long document, split it into smaller parts first and compress each part.
Smaller PDFs for email, forms and WhatsApp
Email services typically reject attachments over 25 MB, and many application portals cap uploads at just 200 KB — a scanned form easily exceeds that. Recompressing the embedded images is usually enough to get under the limit without retyping anything. For WhatsApp sharing, a smaller file also uploads faster and uses less mobile data. Because everything runs in your browser, even sensitive paperwork — ID scans, contracts, medical forms — never has to be sent to a server.
What compression can and cannot do
This tool works by recompressing embedded images, so it shines on scanned documents and photo-heavy PDFs. It cannot shrink text or vector graphics much, and it cannot guarantee an exact target size: a 60-page scan may never fit in 200 KB. In that case the honest result is the smallest achievable file, shown next to the original size so you can decide. Compression is not lossless — the Low preset visibly softens photos — so keep the original file and use High or Medium when quality matters.
Compress PDF — frequently asked questions
Is compressing a PDF free, and are my files uploaded?
Yes, it is free, and no — nothing is uploaded. The compression runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your PDF never leaves your device, and no copy is stored anywhere.
How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends on what is inside the file. Scanned documents and PDFs full of photos shrink the most, because the tool recompresses their embedded images. Text-only PDFs have almost nothing to shrink, so they may only get slightly smaller. The tool always shows the original and new size before you download, so you can judge the result.
Will compression reduce the quality of my PDF?
Only the embedded photos and scans are recompressed — text, layout and page order stay exactly the same. The High preset keeps near-original image quality with a modest saving, while the Low preset shrinks much more but can visibly soften photos. Medium is a good balance for most files.
Can I compress a PDF to exactly 200 KB?
The target-size mode tries progressively stronger settings to reach your target, but an exact size cannot be guaranteed — a long document simply may not fit in 200 KB. If the target cannot be reached, the tool gives you the smallest size it could produce and tells you so honestly. Splitting the file first can help.
Why did my PDF barely shrink?
Most likely it contains mainly text or vector graphics, or its images are already heavily compressed — there is simply little left to remove. For a file that is still too large, try splitting it into smaller parts, or use a lower quality preset.
